This program provides students with a scientific understanding of animals, our relationship with them and management of them. It equips graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to face challenges such as improving the conditions and methods by which we manage companion animals, shrinking habitat, feral animals threatening indigenous animal populations, and a need for food and fiber products to be produced more, sustainably, efficiently and humanely. Honours can be undertaken as an additional year in the Bachelor Science (Honours) which provides opportunities for students to get a real taste of what research involves, and helps to develop high level skills that are in demand in the field of animal science research and the wider animal science sector.
