Course outline

The course combines the complementary fields of psychology and law. You develop advanced legal research and writing skills, critical analysis and skills in interviewing, advocacy and dispute resolution. Choose elective units in areas of law and psychology including forensics psychology, drug and alcohol studies, and family therapy. As a graduate, you enter the workforce with a solid scientific and practical base, suitable for the development of legal policies relating to mental health, research in the legal-psychological domain, and for careers as legal practitioners or psychologists in legal, corporate, government, social, and clinical arenas. Registration to practise as a psychologist requires further study. The course also covers all academic subjects required for admission to legal practice.
