The Bachelor of Stage and Screen (Screen Production) is a practice-led multi-disciplinary course for stage and screen production and performance, underpinned by broad theoretical knowledge, contextual understanding, highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills, embedded in professional practice. The underlying philosophical approach is based in and informed by the ancient Greek philosophy of “Koinonia” reconciled with 21st century practice. The Screen Production discipline combines higher level technical skills in film-making equipment: cameras, lighting, audio and meshes that with aesthetic, artistic, creative and production skills. Students are taught crucial administrative, producing, legal, and professional skills and responsibilities unique to the screen context, and their range of technical skills is enhanced and
complemented by business, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills. Graduates from the Screen Production discipline can expect to enter the industry equipped with a full range of technical and aesthetic skills to empower them to begin producing their own screen work in the form of ‘short films’, and be employed as entry-level professional assistants, potentially in technical support roles in the broader screen production industry.
